Tips for successful adhesive usage

The following tips help in increasing expected life of adhesives

Use on a clean, dry surface without dust, rust, or oil
Use firm pressure with higher physical contact with product surface
Warm surface provides better performance than cold one.
Storage should be done in moderately controlled environments

Factors that determine adhesive performance

1. Adhesive Composition

When analyzed by its infrared spectrum, the adhesive layer should clearly be identified as an acrylic polymer or copolymer

2. Adhesive Bond Strength

The adhesive for the label should support a test weight of 200g for 10 minutes.

3. Adhesive Bond Strength after Accelerated Aging

Under normal usage the adhesive should be permanently affixed to face-stock and substrate after initial dwell time of 7 days.
